It was a difficult night for seeds last night as three were thrown out in spectacular fashion. Chris Dobey beat on a few darts against Gary Anderson. Smith was poor starting his thighs although ian White played also. King punished him although james Wade had plenty of chances. Starting on the double is taking its tollfree! Not for Michael Van Gerwen, however, who performed with some unbelievable stuff. De Zwaan did not perform at all but not got close to MVG. The bottom half of the draw play this day in their next round games and I think it may be a little more comfortable for a few.
My pick would be Nathan Aspinall to acquire his game . He drove a match average of 92 and awakened Vincent Van der Voort 2-0 in the first round. Take everything and he seems to love the big point. Noppert beat a desperately poor Gurney at the first round but he did not even play that well. Gurney offered him lots of chances and also to be fair to him they were taken by him but I cant see Aspinall giving the same chances to him. Aspinalls all around game is just getting better and better and hell be confident of a quarter final location.
My choice is that the Dave Chisnall match treble. He threw five 180s against Cost in a thriller and held his nerve to come through with the victory. He performed some things and after his run from the European Union he is among the kind players at the PDC. Stephen Bunting defeat on an under level Jonny Clayton however he didnt need to play very well. He will need to significantly improve on that when he is to beat on Chisnall and averaged 77. I cant watch tonight to Chisnall having issues and he must go into the next round.
