Elfrid Payton is a sneaky Rookie of the Year candidate, Nikola Vucevic only filmed a reasonably priced extension and the Orlando Magic’s defense has allowed an exceptionally stingy 97.2 points per 100 possessions during preseason play, according to RealGM.com.
You can accurately cite how the Magic have been such sound statistical stoppers since their preseason schedule comprised the hapless Sixers and Indiana Pacers, but understand this: You’re no fun at parties.
Also decidedly unfun: Victor Oladipo’s being sidelined for a little while with a horrible injury.
Oct. 23, the official launch of the team relayed the information that was buzz-killing:
Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo will be out indefinitely after suffering a facial break in clinic Thursday, General Manager Rob Hennigan declared now.
Oladipo, who was assessed Thursday afternoon, will experience a corrective procedure. He had been hurt after taking an elbow during a practice drill.
Oladipo, a year’s lottery pick and someone the Magic expected would require a jump this year, was battling a bad knee during the preseason. Neither he nor Orlando needed this.
Seems like Payton is going to get a chance to show himself instantly. That is good.
Looks like Ben Gordon is in the mix to start at guard. That good.
Back, Victor.

That the Ottawa Senators are welcomed by the Vegas Golden Knights .

The Golden Knights arent currently coming off their best effort, since they were run over by the Nashville Predators, 5-2. The Knights moved into the intermission with a 2-1 lead, however, came from the second using a 4-2 deficit. There were several gaffes from the Knights, none bigger than Marc-Andre Fleury coughing the puck up behind his net to permit for a simple Predators goal in an error.
If youve followed throughout his career a management error by him is not anything new. He is usually great for a few of them each season. Even back on his days in junior baseball, Fleury always appeared to be involved in puck handling mishaps. Just look up 2004 from the World Junior Championships it ended up without a part of the offence touching it in his net and when he tried to clear a puck from Team USA.
But Fleury has attained in his career what goaltenders fantasy of. He is pretty well realized it all and the good definitely outweighs the bad. Fleury has been under a great deal of tension in his zone recently, but hes played hockey to give his staff a chance. Vegas are champions of their three games in two, but were outshot three of them in all.
In actuality, the Golden Knights have been outshot this season. They go into Thursday with a record of 4-3-0. Their exceptional home-ice benefit has given them two wins whether they have lost two in T-Mobile. The Senators are coming off a 2-0 loss after beating the Lightning with a score of 29, against the Wild, that may have been a hangover of sorts. It will take three or two years for everything to gel together, although their roster is shaping up well with talent. Head below to our free Senators vs. Golden Knights select.
There will be a lot of diehard fans in attendance tonight in Las Vegas. Fans, particularly from Canadian and Original Six niches, will go to the town to see their team. The Senators have moved to perform with the Golden Knights twice in the past. It is not what youd have expected from a team that is youthful.
The perception might be a team in vegas and therell be distractions to throw off them. That really hasnt been the case, since the Senators have proven to play against the Knights. By a score of 5-4, they have been winners Within their trip and then the following season, were aggressive at a 4-3 loss in childbirth.
In four meetings, the Senators have scored a minimum of three goals for a mean of 3.75 goals per match against the Golden Knights. That wasnt good enough as they have win to show for their efforts. Vegas pounded the Senators and Craig Anderson for a mean of 4.5 goals per game. They have scored at least 4 goals from the Sens.
Craig Anderson sports a rather terrible GAA of 4.56 and also 0.886 save percentage of his time from the Golden Knights. For 5 goals against the Maple Leafs this season, Anderson had been torched in his lone outing on the road at Toronto. His offence ought to be able to offer some assistance to him , though. If it werent for Fleury in net, then the Golden Knights will be within their zone in a lot of trouble.
The Golden Knights have allowed at least 30 shots in five games. Theyre 25th in the NHL with 33.3 shots allowed per contest. The Senators are a bit better, but still bad with 33 shots permitted for 23rd in the group. All four encounters between the Senators and Golden Knights have gone OVER the total for an average of 8.25 goals scored per game. This has the makings of the next high-scoring affair, with a play on the OVER informed in T-Mobile Arena night in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The UFC is headed back into the City of Brotherly Love later this month, and a few fights are added on short notice. UFC on ESPN two happens March 30 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with my initial thoughts on these new bouts are below.
Kevin Holland vs. Gerald Meerschaert, UFC on ESPN 2 Middleweights Kevin Holland Gerald Meerschaert are set to battle at UFC on ESPN 2 in what should be a fun fight for the fans. The Philly Voice broke the news. Holland (13-4) fell a decision to Thiago Santos in his UFC debut but rebounded nicely with a submission win over John Phillips. In general, he’s won five of the last six fights. Meerschaert (28-10) is 4-2 in the UFC but is coming from a entry loss to Jack Hermansson. Both Holland and Meerschaert are very underrated and exciting fighters at middleweight, but given Holland’s childhood and physiological benefits in this particular fight, I’d make him the favorite here.
Ray Borg vs. Kyler Phillips, UFC on ESPN two Due to an accident to Pingyuan Liu, Ray Borg now meets short-notice replacement opponent Kyler Phillips at a bantamweight bout. Borg (11-3) is 5-3 overall in the UFC but has not fought since a submission reduction to Demetrious Johnson at October 2017. He has dealt with a lot in his young career and hopefully he could put the past behind him. Phillips (6-1) is making his UFC debut after picking up a head kick KO in LFA just a few weeks ago. He is a veteran of the Contender Series and seems like a very promising prospect, but he lacks the UFC encounter that Borg has. I believe Phillips has a opportunity to win this fight, but you still must prefer Borg.
Alex Perez vs. Mark de la Rosa, UFC on ESPN two Moving upward from flyweight into bantamweight is Alex Perez, and he will take on Mark de la Rosa. Perez (21-5) won his first three UFC fights before getting knocked out by Joseph Benavidez in his final outing. Prior to that, he was riding an eight-fight win series. De la Rosa (11-1) is 2-1 at the UFC and his wife Montana de la Rosa is having a lot of success in the Octagon, but the truth he fought in a narrow split decision win over Joby Sanchez was troubling. Like most bantamweight bouts, this should be competitive, but I would still prefer Perez to receive his hands raised.
John Makdessi vs. Jesus Pinedo, UFC Fight Night 148
Due to injuries to Chris Gruetzemacher and Nasrat Haqparast, their first rivals John Makdessi and Jesus Pinedo will now fight at UFC Fight Night 148, taking place March 23 in Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Considering both guys are lightweights who just lost their competitions, this was the way to maintain both guys on the card. Makdessi (16-6) is 9-6 at the UFC and is coming from back-to-back wins over Ross Pearson and Abel Trujillo. Pinedo (16-4-1) is really on a seven-fight win streak and beat Devin Powell by choice in his UFC debut. Makdessi includes a whole lot of experience from the Octagon however Pinedo is just 22-years-old and seems like a fantastic prospect. I would expect a close line here but awarded Pinedo’s youth and upside he is probably the play in this .

Even though his first two years in the NFL may suggest a career already down for the count, Green Bay Packers quarterback DeShone Kizer would like to make it clear that nobody should count him out.
The 23-year-old QB is preparing to start his second season with the Packers after being traded from the Cleveland Browns last March. Remaining within this league is a privilege no player can take for granted and, as he enters Year , Kizer recently expressed that he is feeling the heat more than previously.
« Right now, it is about making sure that every time I step on that field that I’m giving 100-percent work. There’s no complacency, » Kizer informed Jim Owczarski of USA Today’s Packers News. « There’s no’second year’ anymore. You develop within sports really focusing in on development and understanding there is a timeline that’s set up, so you don’t necessarily put as much stress on yourself to get things done right away.
« Well, that deadline is beginning to shrink for me in the sense which the lifespan of a typical NFL athlete is three decades. This is year three for me. I’ve gone out there, I have put stuff on tape and today it’s all about making sure that from here on out everything that I put on tape actually reflects who I know I could be. »

To this point, Kizer’s film will reveal flashes of possible mixed with all the woes displayed by many young QBs ahead of him. In his lone season with the Browns, Kizer was the man on a team that became just the next team in NFL history to go 0-16.
Kizer started 15 games that year — the one DNP came via a benching in Week 6 — and listed 11 touchdowns, 2,894 passing yards and a league-high 22 interceptions. In three game looks with Green Bay, he went 20 of 42 for 187 yards and two picks.
Fast forward to 2019, Kizer is ready to change his public perception. Since Aaron Rodgers’ understudy, Kizer’s goals may sound lofty but the Notre Dame product has said he’s willing to spend the job.
« Personnel, particularly in this organization, is strictly upstairs. And I do not work upstairs. My workplace is downstairs. Therefore, my mindset is about me. I have all of the confidence in the entire world that if I’m playing my very best ball there’s no one that will stop me, » he shared. « For me to compare myself to a different backup quarterback who is in or a tryout guy who comes in could be dumb of me in the feeling that I would be limiting myself because I don’t find myself as a career backup in this league.
« I really don’t see myself as Aaron Rodgers’ copy for the last era of his profession. I see myself. That is the goal I wish to go toward. That’s the amount I would like to play at. Consequently, if I’m competing and focused in on the backup competition, then once more, I’m limiting myself. »
Getting from underneath Rodgers’ highly touted shadow won’t be easy but Kizer will have a chance to continue learning from one of the game’s best in hopes of one day getting another beginning location.
His career thus far has lacked consistency — he will be playing beneath his fourth head coach in three seasons this season — but he is not letting him. Kizer believes his assurance and attention will gradually separate him.
« I truly believe that I’m on an upward trajectory. I am enjoying the best soccer I have ever playedwith. I’m turning the ball over as much anymore. I’m seeing the game, » he said. « I’m learning a lot from Aaron. I am learning so much from the systems that I’ve been in I really believe that at any given point in time since we speak, if I could continue to remain on the road that I’m on right now, I can get back to the path that I thought that I was on as a newcomer starting in this league. »
