Hosting a Daytona 500 party for non-NASCAR fans, how can I lure them in (and keep them entertained)?

I plan on hosting a Daytona 500 party to get a bunch of friends, the huge majority whom have never watched a race. I intend on enticing many of these with the promise of pizza beer, and wings.
My very first idea was to have everyone pick on a driver to root for, with some prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Given that a number of them won’t understand any drivers, I’d thought I’d do just random selections.
Does anyone have any other tips on how best to keep everybody enjoying the race? What are your Daytona plans?
